TV Roundtable Discussion in the Occasion of the International Women's Day
International Women’s Day is marked on March 8th every year. It is a day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. Women on all continents - often divided by national boundaries as well as by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences - come together to celebrate their day. This tradition represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development. International Women’s Day is the story of women as makers of history; it is rooted in the centuries-old struggle of women to participate in society on equal footing with men. Our work here aims to tell the story of women in Syria and to celebrate their extraordinary achievements. Women from all walks of life are telling their story and their message is clear: Anyone can make a difference and every effort, big or small, matters. |
